A TALE OF TWO IFTARSHave you ever wished that you could be at two different places at the VERY same time? That you could split yourself into two like the Gingerbread Man, so that everyone gets a piece of you? That you could somehow whizz from one place to another in the nick of time, just like Superman?
Well, those were our exact sentiments last weekend. You see, my family members were invited to two iftars by two people who are dear to us - G G Ma at Lor Tua Kong & Tok Itam at Telok Blangah. And seriously, it was a tough choice to make....
G G Ma (or rather Great Grandma Zurina - she's my Granny's Aunty & Mum to fellow blogger called 'fashionista') has a special place in Mummy's heart. Being a colleague-cum-nenek saudara to my Mummy, G G Ma is truly a godsend angel who took care of Mummy when she was heavily pregnant with me. When Mummy was plagued with the vomiting bouts, G G Ma ensured that Mummy rested enough and gave her quick neck massages. When Mummy was too busy with work, G G Ma took the trouble to buy her food and placed it on Mummy's table (somehow Mummy couldn't stand the smell of canteen when she was pregnant and would strictly avoid the place). And since Mummy was pregnant with a girl the first time round, G G Ma took the liberty of placing a photograph of her absolutely adorable grand-daughter - Irdina Iman - on Mummy's table.... :)
In fact, Mummy was soooo smitten by Irdina Iman that.... Ya you guessed it, she named me Iman as well!! (*Rolls Eyes*)
Anyway, Daddy too, has a strong-as-super-glue relationship with Tok Itam - Daddy's ever obliging uncle who has been a tremendous help to the family thus far. So being stuck in between two very dear people, we had to make a decision - one that's fair and somewhat reasonable. Since we went to G G Ma's abode for iftar last year, Daddy decided that it's only just and impartial that we go to Tok Itam's this time round. And for that, I missed the opportunity of poking my greasy little fingers on the infamous buffet spread at G G Ma's iftar.... Sighs!

Nonetheless, I had a SWELL time at the Tok Itam's, running around with my second cousins along the corridor, indulging in Tok Itam's birthday cake and greedily unwrapping the Children's Day gifts presented by Aunty Siti. Most of all, I enjoyed every minute I had with my favourite second cousin, Fitrah Nabilah - the demure princess of Aunty Roziani. :)

But seriously, what would YOU have done if you were caught in such a sticky situation?
