"It was such a disappointment! TRULY A DISAPPOINTMENT!" ~ The last I heard, Mummy was complaining incessantly about last weekend. You see, Mummy and her 8 Sahabatz went to T/P/J/C's homecoming dinner, hoping to catch a glimpse of their respective teachers, wishing to reminisce about the good old days in T/P/J/C. True enough Mummy had a splendid time with her 8 Sahabatz, as always. However, she can't say the same for the food, the IT presentation as well as the programme for the night. As educators themselves, I think Mummy and her 8 Sahabatz are becoming more and more critical by the day. Hmmmm, will I become as such when I'm older, Mum?
OK, back to Mummy and her 8 Sahabatz. Being friends for 17 years, the 8 Sahabatz have gone through A WHOLE LOT together. They were there for each other, be it the good times or the bad times. They laughed together, cried together, studied together (believe it or not, they went to the SAME sec school, jc and uni), shopped together, gossiped together and even slept together (hmm, somehow THIS doesn't sound right huh?). They are SO close that some of them are starting to LOOK like one another ~ yikes, that's scary!
Anyway, the 8 Sahabatz ALWAYS seem to act as if they haven't met for ages, despite the fact that they make it a point to meet up at least once a term. Why a term one may ask? Well, because on any other days, 7 of the 8 Sahabatz will be busy marking papers, setting tests, preparing lesson plans, scolding pupils, attending to parents, going for meetings, attending courses & seminars, being involved in CCAs ~ (*TAKES A BREATHER*) ~ u know, the fundamentals of being an educator nowadays ~ basically, being in school for 12 hours.
With so many happenings in their respective institutions and so many motherhood wins & woes to share, it is no wonder that Mummy & her 8 Sahabatz act like giggly young ladies every time they meet. Er Mummy, was that why U hanged out at Simpang Bedok after the disappointing homecoming dinner at T/P/J/C last weekend and came home only after midnight? Tsk tsk tsk....

HAIR RAISING PHENOMENON
Lately, Mummy has been complaining about Ihsan's hair cos' it was getting a tad too messy for her liking. Sometimes, I think he resembles a berserk lion with his mane gone wild. Hurhurhur.
But Mummy is STILL in a dilemma ~ to cut or not to cut? (Er, the hair I mean). On one hand, Mummy is absolutely in LOVEEEE with Ihsan's curly wurly locks. Well, she's just afraid that if she cuts Ihsan's hair, all the locks will be gone. Tsk tsk tsk. On the other hand, Mummy has this theory (God knows where she got it from) that Ihsan's face is getting more chiseled by the day because of his overwhelming hair experience. People kept comparing Ihsan's face when he was less than 6 months old and his current outlook. And yah hor, his face did seem to er, shrink....?
The Hair Raising Experience
Mummy did try to ask Bibik Nur to cut Ihsan's mane, but looking at what she has done to mine thus far, I think it's best not to. :) Hehe, no offence, Bibik! Anyway Mummy, THE HAIR has not been cut since Daddy shaved Ihsan's hair a week after his birth. As an older sister, I think it's about time Ihsan BE A MAN and face Mr. Barber! Or Mummy, you may want to consider accessorizing us with hats, caps or any headgear that you fancy ~ just as long as neither of us look like Muffasal, The Lion King!

IHSAN, D INDONESIAN IDOL
Having an Indonesian-born granny in our midst, our household was soon infected by the Indonesian Idol bug ~ especially so since Ihsan, a contestant from Medan got to the top 4 notches. Not long after, Grannny kept INSISTING that my brother Ihsan (er yes, the one with only FOUR teeth) bears lots of resemblances with Ihsan of Indonesian Idol. Hmmm, in what ways ah, Grans? (*SCRATCHES HEAD*) What's more, Granny also added that Ihsan looks soooo similar to Joakim Gomez of Singapore Idol and will probably look like the latter when he grows much older. Hmmph, talk about blinded by love!
Ihsan An Idol? You tell me....
But seriously, despite being only a young lad, Ihsan already has his own pool of female fans ~ consisting of the two bibiks we have at home as well as the other bibiks next door and behind our house. A day will not pass without the bibiks behind our house hollering, "Sannnn. San sannnnn..." Hmmm, if Ihsan is now "San", then does that make our Mummy "Mama San"? (*SCRATCHES HEAD AGAIN!*)
All right, enough of these mind-boggling, head-spinning questions. By the way, congrats to IHSAN (and I mean the one from Medan) for winning the Indonesian Idol!

FIREWORKS FASCINATION
Our eyes feasted upon the Fireworks Festivals TWICE last week ~ the first being National Day itself. Mummy was truly excited that she donned us in red outfits ~ Semangat Hari Kebangsaan, she said. Though Daddy dearest was rather tired having to work all day, he accommodated to our desire to catch the fireworks display nonetheless. So after solat maghrib, Daddy got behind the wheel and sped off to Marina, hoping to catch a glimpse of the much-talked-about fireworks. Alas, we managed ONLY to get a mere 3 seconds of the display as Daddy had difficulty finding a parking lot. Sigh!
Well, I was pretty much disappointed of course! So,Daddy Dearest being the sweetest daddy on earth (er, at least in MY opinion), decided to bring us to Marina again on Saturday. In fact, just to ensure that everything goes on smoothly on Saturday, Daddy went to reccee the site, parking lots etc. on Thursday evening. Hmm, semangat betul my Daddy!
Saturday finally came. After maghrib, Daddy whizzed to the McD @ East Coast to grab some food (meant for open air dinner ~ er, whatever that means), before heading off to Marina. To our horror, the ECP was even more flooded with people and vehicles, than it was during National Day. It seemed like the whole of Singapore was there! It was a COMMOTION! It was CHAOTIC! It was CATASTROPHIC! It was.... Well, you get the picture....
Anyway, to cut the story reaaaal short, the exit to Marina was blocked by our dear traffic policemen and somehow we ended up parking at a place called Telok Ayer Street. We decided to follow the huge wave of human traffic and managed to catch the 15 minutes fireworks display at a construction site, opposite Lau Pa Sat.
It was a long day indeed (at least for me) and we reached home slightly past 11 p.m. Hmmm, but what happened to all the McD food you may ask? Er, the last I saw, Ihsan was gobbling them up in the car....

AWALLAH DONDANG, SAYANG
Initially, I can understand why Mummy was missing in action on weekdays ~ her duty calls for it. But on weekends? Does she have to work on weekends too? What accounts for her absence last weekend, for instance?
The last I heard from Aunty Dibz & Aunty Tiq, they, together with Mummy and Daddy had a whale of time at Awallah Dondang last weekend. I am not sure whether it has got anything to do with Dondang Sayang, but I was informed that it was an amazing showcase of talents from SP, NYP, IJC, NYJC and JMPS. Mummy's students from B/G/S/S were also involved, so I suppose Mummy was there to lend her support (and perhaps to spend some quality time with Daddy as well, considering that it has been quite some time since they managed to do so).
Mummy, Daddy and Aunty Dibz were pretty much awed and fascinated by the performances of JMPS students in particular. A certain 'kecik-kecik cili padi' boy, whose powerful voice captured the attention of the audience, was heard singing a rendition of 'Kasihmu Laila' by Umbara during the show ~ much to the surprise of everyone. On that note, Mummy imagined the day when she would be amongst the proud parents, watching her babies perform in such musicals.

Hmmm, but the question remains : Why wasn't I brought along to watch the show? Has mummy learnt her lesson after I fell asleep TWICE during the Disney Cars movie and the Sesame Street Show? Does it mean that she will NEVER bring me to any more shows in the future? Hey, don't blame me for having sleepy eyes, hokay?
By the way Mummy, I have learnt it the hard way. Never will I doze off in the middle of ANY shows again. Hopefully, by saying this I get the chance to watch other shows and get pointers from these performers in the future. Hehe.... Afterall, I did make an attempt to stay awake when I accompanied you for the Brillante rehearsal at Kallang Theatre, didn't I?
Brillante Rehearsal @ Kallang Theatre
Er, just for the record Mummy, I have been practicing singing 'Majulah Singapura' and some other Arabic Nursery Rhymes that I learnt from the childcare. Just in case Mummy, just in case...

MISSING MUMMY
Mummy seems pretty busy nowadays, so I guess as the responsible elder sister, I shall assume Mummys duty and continue her blogging journey. (Er, we cannot expect teething Ihsan whose vocabulary is strictly limited to "Kakak", "Nak" and "Bukak" to pen his thoughts down, can we?)
Hmm.... Was Mummy bogged down with her N-levels Oral Exams duties that she forgot to continue blogging? Was she so busy with her MEd courses at NTU, it totally slipped her mind that she has embarked on a blogging odyssey?
No worries, Mummy! Rest assured, your blog is in good hands. MY HANDS!! :) *EVIL GRIN*
But seriously, Mummy has been missing in action the past few weeks, only returning home around 6 p.m. daily. I cannot help but notice that Mummy is feeling a very lethargic every time she comes home. Despite her hectic schedule, Mummy would force herself to play with us in our playroom for at least an hour and a half before reading the books of our choice and putting us to sleep. We know that it is difficult for her to entertain BOTH of us, particularly so when Daddy worked on night shift the whole of last week.
Sometimes we cannot help but frustrate her with our tantrums and wails. Mummy tries very hard to please the both of us, but she soon realized that we want her attention AT THE SAME TIME. So, more often than not, Mummy would put me on her right lap and Ihsan on her left. Not one minute later, we would end up pulling each other's hair. And Mummy? Well, she would start pulling hers. :)
